Can you refer me to a Dentist if I need to see one?

  • Yes. After a comprehensive assessment Kanata Dental Hygiene has a network of dental professionals that we can refer you to as necessary.

Do you work with specialists?

  • Kanata Dental Hygiene has a network of specialists that include oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists, TMJ physiotherapists, etc…

Does my dental insurance cover me?

  • Most dental insurance companies recognize and reimburse clients for services provided by Kanata Dental Hygiene. We are able to electronically submit claims for most insurance companies.

How much does it cost?

  • Each individual needs are different and the fee reflects the service being provided and the time required to perform them.

How soon can I get an appointment?

  • Kanata Dental Hygiene works hard to provide flexible hours and appointment times to accommodate your busy schedule. Kanata Dental Hygiene is open Monday to Saturday with evening appointments available on Monday and Tuesday. Call us to arrange a time that is convenient for you. Walk ins are always welcome and Kanata Dental Hygiene will accommodate you whenever possible.

How often should I get my teeth cleaned?

  • The dental hygienist will asses the condition of your mouth and will personalize the frequency of your visits. Clients with periodontal disease and health issues are recommended to be seen more often while clients with good oral health and no health concerns usually it is recommended to be seen every 6-9 months.

Do you take x-rays?

  • At this time dental hygienists in a dental hygiene clinic are not regulated to take dental x-rays. If you do not have a dentist we can refer you to a dentist and they will forward a copy of your x-rays to our office. If you are under the care of a regular dentist, we will assist you in obtaining a copy of your records for your file at Kanata Dental Hygiene.

Do you use latex and gluten free products in your office?

  • Kanata Dental Hygiene uses non latex and powder free gloves and products that do not contain latex or gluten.

When should I take my child for their first dental hygiene appointment?

  • We recommend at the age of 3-4, children should have their first visit to a dental office or earlier if you have any concerns. We offer happy visits at no charge for children who have not visited a dental office or who may be anxious to visit a dental office.
