SENIOR CARE

More and more seniors are keeping their natural teeth longer. It is important to keep in contact with your dental hygienist to prevent problems with gum disease and decay. Decay at the gum line (root decay), is very common amongst seniors. Many medications can contribute to dry mouth which can lead to an increase in decay at the root surface and periodontal disease.

Seniors who wear full or partial dentures need to receive regular oral hygiene care. A comprehensive oral assessment and review of the medical history will be required to establish a personalized home care program that will help to reduce oral health concerns.

Dentures and partial dentures should be checked and professionally cleaned on a regular basis. Oral cancer screening would also be part of the oral assessment appointment.

Kanata Dental Hygiene offers ground floor access, ample parking and friendly, courteous service.
